images 5 and 6 are much more subtle in the use of composition and point of view. while the others tell a narrative of overcoming, the quality of light is a bit nondescript. try to focus on how it 'feels' to be afraid and how it would 'feel' to overcome it. the key here is to suggest and elude to rather than show... this will invite the viewer to put the pieces together and bring there own experiences to the images.
The last image is by far my favorite of the set. It captures the feeling of dread quite well, though I'd like to see the water be a little more obvious. The angular nature of the light, as well as the bend in the model's body really accentuate this energy of fear, and the inertia of terror. This combined with the darkness instill an almost horror film look to the image.
The images do great in expressing the overcoming of fear but I agree with Tyler about the the water in the last image, not necessarily more water but maybe a little more light on the water to offer a glimpse of it and would offer just a touch of fill light. With the light, since he is leading up to overcoming the fear, maybe use darker images leading up to the brightest being the final "leap". I feel that would make them stronger, kind of like the light overcoming the dark.
